Paperchase

Looking at gift, Paperchase is the go to place, I love the selection of eclectic designs and prints they offer, there's something for everyone.

I love the combination of muted colour and black illustration to make a gorgeous gift wrap design.

Paperchase offer such a diverse range, I love how different this is to the first gift wrap shown. I like how this combines different illustration techniques built on top of the knitted background to create the overall effect.

I love how these Christmas tags have been given a revamp with bold bright non traditional Christmas colours, I think the whole look of the design is youthful and fresh which is a nice change to usual Christmas wrapping.

Marchesa

Marchesa are an amazing designer brand that create the most beautiful gowns for red carpet. Their beautiful fabrics and heavy embellishments make stunning feminine dresses that create the ultimate wow factor.

Flea Market Finds

This week we visited a local flea market to source interesting and unusual objects for inspiration. I was surprised at how much there was and how cheaply it was available. I managed to get a total of 5 objects for £4. I produced a drawing sheet using different media for the objects, overall I think it worked quite successfully.

Chanel - Spring Summer 2014

The Chanel spring summer 2014 show at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year has been one of my favorites. Designer and Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld used an antique German painting chart as his original inspiration transformed the show space in to an art exhibition, he created paintings especially for the show and also had some installations including a giant 2.55 bag, a golden shower and a No5 robot. The Chanel shows are always a visual experience but I feel this one in particular has given a new life to Chanel giving such a youthful new take. The textiles as always are beautiful but this time a lot more colorful than the usual monochromatic colour pallet, techniques such as spray paint on the bags take away Chanel's usual classic and polished feel although not straying too far from the brands signature styles using wool, tweed and boucle.
